The things I see in Hollywood every day. Usually I am sad that I don’t have a camera, but then I remember that my CrackBerry takes awesome pictures! So, here is one I see every morning when I go to work, and every morning it cracks me up. One huge “Pet Supplies” sign above one huge trash dumpster!
Why is this sign located over a large dumpster?
From a purely architectural standpoint, I’d say that this is excellent planning … for the trash. Which is an oft overlooked reality of a building’s everyday use. From a design standpoint, however, having the trash be the most dominant feature of the building on the street side leaves a lot to be desired! One needn’t be an architect to notice this!
Might I add – very odd building with it’s vertical brick veneer, rounded corners, tile roof, awkward angles, and, of course, prominent trash placement!
Yes, it strikes me as odd too. It’s on La Brea, on one of the corners, South of Wilshire.
